Osteoporosis

We frequently encounter patients who are concerned about their bone density. They have been given diagnoses such as osteopenia or osteoporosis.   Bones thin because of hormones, nutrition or changes in activity levels. Physicians often prescribe medications or supplements which help but by themselves are not enough. Exercise is essential.  At Manual Solutions we believe that staying active and healthy throughout our lives needs to be intentional.  We believe it is important to understand why changes are happening and why some exercises increase bone density and others do not.   Treatment programs need to encourage not only putting weight through bones but doing with good alignment and posture. Similarly, muscles don’t just need to be strengthened, key muscle groups need to be activated.
